Day 1: Arrive Arusha-Tanzania

Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Your guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to tonight’s lodge in Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

After break fast drive to Arusha National Park. Catch glimpses of black and white Colobus monkeys swinging in the forest canopy, bushbuck dashing across the savannah and giraffes drinking from a waterhole. Enjoy a leisurely walk to a waterfall before heading back to your lodge.Dinner and overnight Mount Meru Hotel

Day 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, depart for Tarangire National park. Tarangire is approximately 150 km from Arusha. Picnic lunch will be provided in Tarangire followed by a game drive until dusk. Tarangire, dominated by the silhouettes of great baobab trees, is an untouched haven for wildlife and has the highest population density of elephants also wildebeest, Zebra, Eland, Kudu, Lion Cheetah, Leopard and buffalo.

Day 4: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro highlands

After breakfast, the first stop will be the mto wa mbu village ( meaning River of Mosquitoes)Visit the colorful market and be sure to tray the delicious fruit including red banana. Game viewing and lunch will take place in Lake Manyara National park. This superb scenic park set around Lake Manyara is most famous for the tree climbing lions and large population of primate. Lake Manyara is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, marvel at the variety of species include, Flamingos, spoonbill, Pelican, teal, kingfisher, and cormorant. Make your way from Lake Manyara National Park to the Ngorongoro highlands and observe forest monkey leap from branch to branch on the slopes of Great Rift Valley escarpment while elephants huddle in the shade of the baobab trees.

Day 5: Ngorongoro High lands – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your lodge depart for Serengeti plains. Drive across the short grass plains of the Serengeti National Park with an afternoon game drive. Serengeti National Park is one of World’s greatest game park. Meaning “Endless Plains” in Maasai language, the Serengeti still offers the most incredible game viewing in Africa you will see herds of herbivore, wildebeest, zebra and gazelles in migration followed by their predators. Lion, cheetah, leopard and hyenas. Spend some time at the watering holes watching family of hippos, watch from underneath a tree with leopards above only short distance away or watch giraffes gracefully cross this massive park. The wildlife viewing opportunities are endless offering a timeless spectacle unequaled in the world.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Wake up in middle of Serengeti Plains and enjoy the magnificent sunrise. You will spend a full day of game drives In Serengeti National Park. Enjoy the amazing experience as you travel through the most famous game park in Africa. Across these Great Plains in the first Month of the year, witness the annual migration as hundreds of thousands of animals migrate. This also coincides with calving season up to 800,000 wildebeest and zebras. Rest assure that you will have ample wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the year. Picnic lunch is served on a hilltop overlooking the plains.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater Rim

After breakfast enjoy a game drive en-route towards Ngorongoro Crater. This is one of the largest intact Volcanic Crater in the world. Enjoy the viewing to a permanent population of more than 30,000 animals. This in one of only places in Africa where you stand a very good chance of seeing the Big five all within close proximity: lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant).

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater – Ngorongoro Highlands

Descend back in time as you make your way down into the Ngorongoro crater flow, Ngorongoro Crater is one of the Wonders of the Natural World. An extinct volcano that collapsed around 25 million years ago, thus forming a vast ‘super bowl’ where the largest permanent – resident concentration of Africa game is on display. Enjoy the home of the magnificent wildlife population within the crater as you descend into this paradise of ecosystems including woodland, lake, river, swamp, forest and plains. Largest grazing animals such as wildebeest, buffalo, Zebra and antelopes cover the grasslands. The herds attract predators includes the black manned Lion, leopard, cheetah and hyenas. Elephant found here are usually lone males. The Fever trees Forest is home to monkey, bushbuck, waterbuck, as well as few Black Rhino which have taken refuge here. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro Crater is referred to as the Garden of Eden.

Day 9: Overland to Arusha

After breakfast, we’ll return to Arusha this morning and enjoy the opportunity to shop for local crafts before having lunch at our lodge. After time at leisure, we’ll transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your International Flight.( you can drive to Arusha)

Frequency Asked Questions

How soon do I have to book your tour?
We recommend booking your tour as soon as possible. Lodges and tented camps on safari are booked quickly, so we need to reserve those before they fill up. However, sometimes we do have space last minute as well.

Do I need a visa to travel to Tanzania?
A valid VISA is required for travel to Tanzania. A single entry VISA is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. VISAS-on- arrival are available at a Kilimanjaro international airport (JRO) for $ 50. (However for U.S citizens the cost is $100 for a multiple entry VISA). Is highly advised to visitors travelling from a country where VISA SERVISES ARE AVAILABLE SHOULD OBTAIN a visa prior to arrival in the country in order to avoid delays at the airport.

Can I Travel with children?
You can surely travel with children in Tanzania. Tanzanians love children and are especially helpful to mothers. However, canned baby foods, powdered milk and disposable nappies may not be available outside major towns. However, it is not appropriate to go on safari with babies as the roads are bumpy.

What type of vehicles do you provide?
We use 4 or 7 passenger 4×4-drive modern Land Cruisers, all with pop up roof for viewing, our safari jeep are facilitated with High Frequency radios, Refrigerator, Binoculars and first aid kits.

What about roads on Safaris?
You will experience bumpy roads when traveling throughout the region and during game drives. This may pose a problem for some individuals with back problems. Please inform us in advance and we can provide additional back pillows for extra comfort. While our vehicles are customized and equipped for rough roads, we still recommend our guests to always fasten their seat belts at all times, and hold on when standing on their seat to enjoy the view through the popped up roof. Please also make sure that your cameras and other electronic equipment are safely stored at all times in case of any damages due to bumpy roads

What do you mean by “Unlimited Game drives?
In our Tanzania safari packages include unlimited game drives with no restriction on mileage or fuel. If you wanna go far as much as you can it possible. Also if you wanna go for the full day game drive, we’ll pack picnic lunch so you will have an incredible time in the bush. We start our legendary early game drive at 6 o’clock in the morning whereby you create a big opportunity of seeing predators while they are active and other animals movement around. In that time you have the GOLDEN light therefore the pictures you take you take really good pictures.

Am I allowed to walk around the national park?
It is recommended to stay inside your safari vehicles at all times when you are in the national parks, unless your driver guide find a safe area to stop for lunch, or to stretch your legs. If you are keen on hiking, there are guided walks that are available in Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. Within the Serengeti National Parks, long walks are not permitted during to conservation reasons; however, some lodgings will offer short walks near the lodge or camp.

Is tipping customary in Tanzania?
For our outstanding safari guide we recommend $ 40 to $ 50 per car per day while in the hotels it is $ 10 to $ 25 per group per day put in a tip box. Porters are usually tipped separately and it is $ 1 per bag.

Can I use my cell phone while in Tanzania?
Since you will be on a safari-type expedition, it’s unlikely that you will be close enough to any cell towers to be able to use your cell phone.

Do I need power adapters?
The power grid in Tanzania is 220-240v, meaning that you will need a converter for any 110v devices that can’t handle the higher voltage. Depending on where you are, you will also encounter both Type G (BS-1363) plugs and Type D (BS-546) outlets, which require converters.

What are the toilets like in Tanzania?
Camp, inn, lodge, or hotel, your Tanzania accommodations will offer a western style bowl toilet that flushes. It’s possible that if you are in more rural parts of the country on an expedition that you’ll encounter a squat toilet.

Can I drink the water in Tanzania?
Tap water in Tanzania is not safe to drink. Only drink the filtered or bottled water provided to you by your tour operator.

Will I be able to find ATMs?
Withdrawing from ATMs in Tanzania is possible in larger cities like Arusha, Moshi and Stone Town. However, problems with ATM machines in Tanzania are being reported more often. During your Tanzania safari in the national parks, as well as near the beach accommodations at Zanzibar, there are no ATMs available.
We advise you to take cash US Dollars to Tanzania, which can be exchanged to local currency.
Please note: only US Dollars as from the year 2006 are accepted in Tanzania! Always ask for new dollars when buying them abroad.
Credit cards are accepted in some accommodations, but they often charge high credit card fees. Cash payments are cheaper.

Should I purchase travel insurance?
Always. It’s a precaution that you’ll hopefully never use but it can save you thousands of dollars.

Booking Conditions

Safari Bookings

Bookings and contracts shall be estimated to have been concluded in Arusha, Tanzania and shall be interpreted according to the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. The company exclusively reserves the right to deny any booking without reasonably outlining the reasons for it.

Deposit & Payment

Once you have agreed to the safari holiday arrangements with us a 40% of the total tour amount is required upfront to confirm a booking. This deposit forms part of the payment for the trip and shall be offset to the total amount charged to the client/agent.

However, clients or agents booking prior to four weeks of the departure of the tour are required to pay the amount in full to secure their reservation. If the full amount is Failure to pay full amount prior to four weeks of departure of the tour will result in cancellation of the booking and the deposits will also be forfeited.

All bank and other transactional charges have to be settled by the agent or client respectively. This also includes the transaction fees charged by our bank.

Cancellations

Cancellations have to be sent in writing. Cancellation shall be effective only from the date of receipt of cancellation by the booking office. In case of a booking cancellation, the company will be in the position of retaining the full deposit amount.

In case of a booking cancellation, the client will be subjected to a cancellation fee which is as follows:

  • 4 weeks prior to departure – 30% Cancellation Fee
  • 4-2 weeks prior to departure – 50% Cancellation Fee
  • 2-1 weeks prior to departure – 75% Cancellation Fee
  • Less than 1 week prior to departure – 100% Cancellation Fee

The company reserves the right to cancel any tour at its sole and absolute discretion with our without prior notification in any kind of unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, refund of full amount will be made by the company.

Authority On Tour

The decisions of the Company’s guide/driver on tour shall at all times be final and binding. The client must at all times comply and meet with the laws, customs, and foreign exchange regulations of all countries visited.

Passports, Visas and Other Travel Papers

It is the client’s responsibility to make sure all the essential documentations required for your travel in Tanzania are in order. Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris cannot be held liable for any consequences resulting a client’s not having all required documentation prior to the starts of the tour.

Risk

The client accepts the tours are in adventurous nature and will involve individual personal risk. Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris cannot be held responsible for any property damaged, injury, loss of life howsoever caused. The client accepts full responsibility for all risks involved.

Marketing

Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris reserves the right to use any photographs and videos taken during tours for marketing or advertising. The client do gives approval to use such photos and authorises the company to preserve copyright or such materials.
