With the ongoing changes in travel due to Corona virus (COVID-19), we are continually adapting our operations to serve the needs of our clients and the travel advisor community. We are monitoring the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and state departments to ensure when it’s safe to travel.

Current Travel Advisory: Level 4
Present a negative COVID 19 test certificate with QR code for verification upon arrival. The only accepted test is Real Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing or Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs) done at a nationally accredited/approved laboratory using sample tested within 96 hours before arrival
All visitors for Tanzania safari are required to complete the Health Surveillance Form https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/online for Tanzanian mainland and https://healthtravelznz.mohz.go.tzb for Zanzibar within 24 hours before arrival into Tanzania. Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation code, including a Unique Health Code (UHC) to present to health officials
. during primary screening upon arrival in Tanzania.
All arriving travelers, aged 6 years and older, will be required to undergo a Rapid Test on arrival, the cost of which is USD 10 per person per test for the Tanzanian mainland and USD 25 per person per test for Zanzibar.
All travelers who require a Rapid Test on arrival are advised to pay for the Rapid Test prior to arrival in Tanzania, to avoid any delay on arrival. Travelers arriving on the Tanzanian mainland can pay using an automatically generated control number received after completing the Traveler Surveillance Form via Ministry of Health – Traveler’s Health Portal (moh.go.tz) Travelers arriving in Zanzibar can pay via Home (zanzibarcovidtesting.co.tz)
Travelers who receive positive results on their Rapid Tests will be allowed to self-isolate at a location of their choice for a period of 14 days or more until they test negative on a Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test and will be subjected under strict surveillance procedures.
Upon arrival, all travelers for Tanzania safari will be provided with health information cards with toll-free numbers and advised to self-monitor themselves for symptoms and signs. In the case that the travelers develop COVID-19, they will be tested and treated at designated health facilities at their own cost
Children aged 5 years and below, travelers in transit, aircraft crew are exempted from both RT-PCR certificate and COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test.
Additional visa/documents: A visa is required to enter Tanzania. Obtain an e-visa in advance https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/
Departure: Requirements for travelers departing Tanzania will be in line with the requirements issued by the travelers’ respective airline or destination country. COVID-19 testing should be taken a minimum of 5 days prior to departure (depending on the specific airline and destination country requirements) to ensure adequate time is allowed for test results to be received.
Mandatory to travelers, including travelers in transit, whose destination is the USA, India and some of European countries:
a) Have a valid RT PCR COVID-19 Test Certificate; b) Undertake COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test at the Airport six hours before travelling. This requirement is mandatory to travelers whose destination is to the United States of America, India and some of the European countries; c) Conduct Rapid PCR COVID-19 test to travelers travelling to the United Arab Emirates or to those on transit in Dubai (b-above is not required for (c), and vice versa) d) Have a valid COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate
