Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Take time to relax and settle in after your journey while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this vibrant safari town.

The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Arusha before beginning your Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro adventure.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The Tarangire safari park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent), which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

There was a reason that “The Lion King” creators drew their inspiration from the Serengeti, and today you will get to discover why. Renowned for its large lion population, this may be the best opportunity to get a great view of a lion pride in their natural habitat, as the gazelles, zebras, and buffalo are abundant in this region. Come during the right season, and witness the birth of the wildebeest calves, who will begin their annual migration to Kenya at the end of May. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of games, a drive to your lodge awaits.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, when wildlife is most active. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the endless plains and look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other wildlife.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for a delicious brunch before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most famous natural wonders and home to an incredible concentration of wildlife.

The crater’s diverse landscape includes open grasslands, forests, wetlands, and a soda lake where flamingos can often be seen. Keep an eye out for the rare black rhino, as well as elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and other wildlife.

Arrive at your accommodation in time to enjoy a beautiful Ngorongoro sundowner, followed by dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Explore the crater floor and look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

As the temperature rises, visit the famous hippo pool and watch these impressive animals cooling off in the water. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch near the lake while taking in the breathtaking views of the crater.

After lunch, continue with your final game drive and enjoy one last opportunity to experience the incredible wildlife and landscapes of Ngorongoro. Ascend to the crater rim and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.

Day 6: Kilimanjaro and Chemaka Excursion

After breakfast, drive to Materuni Village, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. From the village, begin a scenic walk through lush green landscapes to the beautiful Materuni Waterfalls.

Along the way, enjoy views of tropical trees, coffee farms, birds, fruits, and local wildlife. At the waterfall, take time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and swim in the refreshing natural pool if you wish. Remember to bring your swimwear.

After the hike, return to Materuni Village for a traditional Chagga coffee tour and a delicious local lunch. Continue to Chemka Hot Springs, a beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by fig trees. Enjoy a relaxing swim in the clear, warm water before driving back to Arusha for your accommodation or airport drop-off.
