How soon do I have to book your tour?
We recommend booking your tour as soon as possible. Lodges and tented camps on safari are booked quickly, so we need to reserve those before they fill up. However, sometimes we do have space last minute as well.
Do I need a visa to travel to Tanzania?
A valid VISA is required for travel to Tanzania. A single entry VISA is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. VISAS-on- arrival are available at a Kilimanjaro international airport (JRO) for $ 50. (However for U.S citizens the cost is $100 for a multiple entry VISA). Is highly advised to visitors travelling from a country where VISA SERVISES ARE AVAILABLE SHOULD OBTAIN a visa prior to arrival in the country in order to avoid delays at the airport.
Can I Travel with children?
You can surely travel with children in Tanzania. Tanzanians love children and are especially helpful to mothers. However, canned baby foods, powdered milk and disposable nappies may not be available outside major towns. However, it is not appropriate to go on safari with babies as the roads are bumpy.
What type of vehicles do you provide?
We use 4 or 7 passenger 4×4-drive modern Land Cruisers, all with pop up roof for viewing, our safari jeep are facilitated with High Frequency radios, Refrigerator, Binoculars and first aid kits.
What about roads on Safaris?
You will experience bumpy roads when traveling throughout the region and during game drives. This may pose a problem for some individuals with back problems. Please inform us in advance and we can provide additional back pillows for extra comfort. While our vehicles are customized and equipped for rough roads, we still recommend our guests to always fasten their seat belts at all times, and hold on when standing on their seat to enjoy the view through the popped up roof. Please also make sure that your cameras and other electronic equipment are safely stored at all times in case of any damages due to bumpy roads
What do you mean by “Unlimited Game drives?
In our Tanzania safari packages include unlimited game drives with no restriction on mileage or fuel. If you wanna go far as much as you can it possible. Also if you wanna go for the full day game drive, we’ll pack picnic lunch so you will have an incredible time in the bush. We start our legendary early game drive at 6 o’clock in the morning whereby you create a big opportunity of seeing predators while they are active and other animals movement around. In that time you have the GOLDEN light therefore the pictures you take you take really good pictures.
Am I allowed to walk around the national park?
It is recommended to stay inside your safari vehicles at all times when you are in the national parks, unless your driver guide find a safe area to stop for lunch, or to stretch your legs. If you are keen on hiking, there are guided walks that are available in Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. Within the Serengeti National Parks, long walks are not permitted during to conservation reasons; however, some lodgings will offer short walks near the lodge or camp.
Is tipping customary in Tanzania?
For our outstanding safari guide we recommend $40 to $100 per car per day while in the hotels it is $10 to $25 per group per day put in a tip box. Porters are usually tipped separately and it is $1 per bag.
Can I use my cell phone while in Tanzania?
Since you will be on a safari-type expedition, it’s unlikely that you will be close enough to any cell towers to be able to use your cell phone.
Do I need power adapters?
The power grid in Tanzania is 220-240v, meaning that you will need a converter for any 110v devices that can’t handle the higher voltage. Depending on where you are, you will also encounter both Type G (BS-1363) plugs and Type D (BS-546) outlets, which require converters.
What are the toilets like in Tanzania?
Camp, inn, lodge, or hotel, your Tanzania accommodations will offer a western style bowl toilet that flushes. It’s possible that if you are in more rural parts of the country on an expedition that you’ll encounter a squat toilet.
Can I drink the water in Tanzania?
Tap water in Tanzania is not safe to drink. Only drink the filtered or bottled water provided to you by your tour operator.
Will I be able to find ATMs?
Withdrawing from ATMs in Tanzania is possible in larger cities like Arusha, Moshi and Stone Town. However, problems with ATM machines in Tanzania are being reported more often. During your Tanzania safari in the national parks, as well as near the beach accommodations at Zanzibar, there are no ATMs available.
We advise you to take cash US Dollars to Tanzania, which can be exchanged to local currency.
Please note: only US Dollars as from the year 2006 are accepted in Tanzania! Always ask for new dollars when buying them abroad.
Credit cards are accepted in some accommodations, but they often charge high credit card fees. Cash payments are cheaper.
Should I purchase travel insurance?
Always. It’s a precaution that you’ll hopefully never use but it can save you thousands of dollars.
