Where are the volunteer programs located?
Volunteer projects are located in the city of Arusha. Arusha is a medium-sized city located northwest of Tanzania at the base of Mount Meru and located about 80 km from Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Arusha is the gateway to the Momela National Park, about 36 km alone, to the Serengeti National Park, the largest and most impressive wildlife reserve in Africa, as well as the Ngorongoro Crater, which is one of the most unspoiled and Spectacular views of Tanzania.
Getting There
Volunteers should arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, where they will be picked up by local staff and transported to the accommodation.

Volunteer program costs vary by $250 for one week.
Volunteering Duration
The duration of volunteering can be done for a minimum of one week and at most six months.

Food in Tanzania
In Tanzania, the typical dishes usually contain rice as well as exotic and wild meats presented kebab type. The use of vegetables is also remarkable and predominates the eggplant, onion, etc… The typical dish of Tanzania is the ugali, a mashed cassava and is accompanied by meat, vegetables and rice. In Arusha coffee cultivation is so widespread that coffee consumption is very common in the area.
Tours in Arusha
In Arusha the main attraction is the safaris. Located in a key area for the realization of the same, the volunteers can take advantage of their free time to make one of these trips contracted to see the fauna and flora of the zone. In the vicinity of Arusha are numerous national parks of great beauty such as the Serengeti.
Transport in Tanzania
In Tanzania it is easy to move from one city to another by plane as there is an airport in major cities as well as in some national parks. However, the easiest and cheapest way to get around is by using the bus. Even so, the roads are not in very good condition and the routes can be made a little long since the drivers must overcome different obstacles.
The volunteer residence is located in the area of Tengeru, Arumeru. To get to the city center you can take a bus “dala dala” or taxi and it takes only 20 minutes.
Volunteers can go from the residence to the projects on bus “dala dala” with about $1 a day to go and return.
