9 Days African Honeymoon Safari and Zanzibar

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Enjoy a scenic journey through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania as you make your way toward the vast Serengeti plains.

The Serengeti is renowned for its endless open grasslands, which provide excellent opportunities for spotting wildlife. As Tanzania’s oldest national park and one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth, the Serengeti has retained much of its natural character, with landscapes and ecological processes shaped over millions of years.

The park is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, gazelles, and numerous other species. It is also the stage for the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, when vast herds of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, move across the ecosystem in search of fresh water and grazing.

Because the migration follows rainfall and changing grazing conditions, the exact location and timing vary throughout the year. Enjoy game viewing along the way before continuing deeper into the Serengeti and arriving at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti

Full day in Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences, and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari tour, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake-up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the lodge camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full-day game drive with picnic lunch

Day 5: Serengeti Via Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After an early breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive through the Serengeti National Park as you begin your journey toward the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Continue through the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending approximately 610 meters to the crater floor.

Formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. Its enclosed ecosystem supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Tanzania for game viewing.

As you descend into the crater, you’ll encounter vast numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, elephants, and other wildlife. The crater’s diverse habitats—including open grasslands, forests, wetlands, and a soda lake—also attract more than 500 bird species. Keep your eyes open for the endangered black rhino, which can occasionally be seen grazing across the open plains.

After an exciting game drive and a scenic picnic lunch, continue exploring the crater before ascending to the rim. Later, drive to your comfortable lodge in Karatu for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6: Karatu to Arusha/Zanzibar

After breakfast at your lodge, check out and begin your transfer to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Enjoy the scenic transition from Tanzania’s wildlife-rich northern circuit to the tropical paradise of the Indian Ocean.

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your carefully selected honeymoon hotel. Settle in, relax, and enjoy your first evening surrounded by Zanzibar’s tropical beauty.

The rest of the day is free for you to unwind and begin your romantic Zanzibar beach holiday.

Day 7: Spice Farms and Stone Town Tour

After breakfast, you will be picked up at 9:30 AM and begin your Zanzibar cultural experience with a visit to a traditional spice farm. Discover the island’s famous spices, including cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, and other tropical plants, while learning how they are grown and harvested. You will also have the opportunity to taste a selection of fresh seasonal fruits.

After the spice farm visit, enjoy a delicious local lunch before continuing to historic Stone Town, the cultural heart of Zanzibar. Explore its fascinating heritage, including the former slave market, historic buildings, vibrant daily market, and atmospheric narrow streets.

Take time to discover local shops and browse for souvenirs, spices, traditional crafts, and other unique gifts. After the tour and shopping experience, return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Day 8: Beach Stay at Zanzibar

Today is dedicated to relaxation and quality time together on one of Zanzibar’s beautiful beaches. Enjoy a peaceful day at your handpicked honeymoon beach hotel, soak up the tropical sunshine, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or simply unwind in the tranquil surroundings.

For couples looking to add a little adventure, optional activities can be arranged by our travel experts, including a dolphin tour, Prison Island excursion, Jozani Forest tour, or Safari Blue experience.

You can also enjoy a romantic sunset dhow cruise, offering a beautiful way to end the day as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Day 9: Departure Day

Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Zanzibar International Airport in good time for your flight home.
