Day 2: Arusha-Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00 am and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful wildlife destinations. The park is known for its diverse landscapes, with nine distinct vegetation zones creating a rich habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.

Tarangire is particularly famous for its ancient baobab trees, some of the largest trees in Africa, which create a spectacular backdrop as they tower over the surrounding wildlife. The Tarangire River is an important source of water and attracts large numbers of animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and many species of birds.

The park is especially renowned for its large elephant population, offering excellent opportunities to observe elephant families as they interact and move through the park. In the afternoon, continue with another game drive before leaving the park and heading to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Early morning, after breakfast, we depart for Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands, which allow for excellent sightings of wildlife. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park, and it is also one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely untouched for millions of years. While the Serengeti boasts abundant wildlife, it is perhaps best known for the annual Great Migration. Vast numbers of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebras and antelope, move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The precise timing of the migration is entirely dependent upon the rainfall patterns each year.

🏕️ Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Day 4: Serengeti

Enjoy a full day exploring the magnificent Serengeti National Park, with the flexibility to tailor the day to your preferences. Your safari guide will discuss the best schedule with you each day, including your preferred wake-up time and the timing of your game drives.

For this day, you may choose to start with an early morning game drive, return to your lodge or camp for lunch and some relaxation, and then head out for an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you can spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti with a picnic lunch, allowing you to venture farther into the park and maximize your time among the wildlife.

🍽️ Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
🏕️ Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Day 5: Serengeti Via Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final en-route game drive through the Serengeti National Park as you make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From there, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, which reaches approximately 610 meters (2,000 feet) in depth.

Formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed in on itself around two to three million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural wonders. Its fertile crater floor supports one of the highest concentrations of large mammals in Africa, creating exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing.

The descent into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once on the crater floor, you’ll encounter vast herds of wildebeest and zebra, graceful gazelles, and many other species moving across the open grasslands. The area is also home to more than 500 recorded bird species, making it an excellent destination for birdwatchers.

The Ngorongoro Crater offers one of the best opportunities in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino, which can occasionally be seen grazing in the open grasslands. After an unforgettable game drive, you will ascend from the crater and continue to your accommodation for the evening.

🍽️ Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
🏕️ Accommodation: Farm of Dream Lodge

Day 6: Visit Lake Eyasi for a Cultural Tour

Today, you’ll travel to Lake Eyasi for a fascinating cultural experience with the Datoga and Hadzabe communities, two of Tanzania’s distinctive indigenous groups. This visit offers a unique opportunity to learn about traditional ways of life that have been preserved for generations.

You’ll first meet the Datoga, traditionally pastoralists and skilled artisans. Visit their homes, learn about their daily activities, and experience their traditional dances while gaining insight into their customs and culture.

You’ll then spend time with the Hadzabe, one of Tanzania’s remaining hunter-gatherer communities. They continue to rely on traditional hunting and gathering techniques, using handmade bows, arrows, and other tools. During your visit, you may see how these tools are crafted and, where appropriate and permitted by the community, participate in a traditional hunting activity.

After this memorable cultural experience, return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

  1. Daniela

A truly special holiday that I highly recommend; everything was perfectly organized and absolutely beautiful. Regina was wonderful during the booking process, always available and helpful, and Raymond, our guide, was incredibly supportive throughout the entire trip.

We enjoyed an unforgettable 11-day safari combined with time in Zanzibar, visiting the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, the spectacular Serengeti National Park, and beautiful Tarangire National Park.

Traveling in March was perfect, with very few tourists, which made the experience even more enjoyable and peaceful. We returned home leaving a piece of our hearts in Tanzania.

The lodges were perfect, and the whole journey exceeded our expectations.
