Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Relax and settle in after your journey, with the rest of the day at leisure to prepare for your unforgettable Tanzania safari adventure.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The Tarangire safari park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent), which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Ndutu Area

After breakfast, drive toward the Southern Serengeti and the Ndutu Area, where the Great Wildebeest Migration can often be found during the calving season. Enjoy a game drive through the vast Serengeti plains, searching for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and the predators that follow the herds.

The migration is a remarkable annual journey, with more than a million wildebeest moving through the Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water. During the calving season, thousands of wildebeest calves are born across the southern Serengeti, attracting lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other predators.

The exact location of the herds changes with rainfall and grazing conditions, but your experienced safari guide will monitor wildlife movements and take you to the best available areas for game viewing and photography. After an exciting day in Ndutu, continue to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ndutu Area – Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a half-day game drive in the Ndutu Area, exploring the southern Serengeti’s wildlife-rich plains and searching for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and predators.

Later, continue into Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destination. Covering approximately 14,763 square kilometers, the Serengeti is famous for its vast open plains and extraordinary wildlife, including the Great Wildebeest Migration.

The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word “Siringet,” meaning “endless plains.” Enjoy an en-route game drive as you continue toward your accommodation in the Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, when wildlife is most active and the soft morning light creates excellent opportunities for photography. Watch the sunrise over the vast plains while searching for lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife.

After the game drive, return to camp for a delicious brunch before continuing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you leave the Serengeti and travel toward the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural wonders. Its diverse habitats include open grasslands, forests, wetlands, rivers, and a soda lake that attracts large numbers of flamingos and other birdlife. The crater also provides an excellent opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino.

Continue to your accommodation in the Ngorongoro area, arriving in time to enjoy a spectacular African sunset and sundowner experience.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an early morning game drive, when the cooler temperatures and fresh morning light provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino.

As the day warms up, visit the hippo pool before enjoying a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the crater lake. After lunch, continue with your final game drive, taking in the crater’s remarkable landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Later, ascend to the crater rim and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening after an unforgettable Tanzania safari.
