Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The Tarangire safari park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent), which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Although relatively small in size, the park offers remarkable scenery, diverse habitats, and excellent wildlife viewing.

Explore the lush groundwater forests, where giant fig and mahogany trees provide a beautiful backdrop for sightings of baboons, blue monkeys, elephants, giraffes, impalas, and large herds of buffalo. Around the lake, you may also see hippos and a variety of waterbirds, including flamingos.

Lake Manyara is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions and rich birdlife, with species such as the ground hornbill and crested eagle adding to the experience. The combination of wildlife, forest, lake, and dramatic Rift Valley landscapes creates exceptional opportunities for photography.

For an added adventure, you may choose an optional activity such as a cycling tour or boat excursion, depending on availability and seasonal conditions.

After an exciting day of exploration, transfer to your lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

As lunch approaches, we make our way to the picnic site on the lake, taking in the spectacular views and having a bite to eat before you head out on the final game drive. After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s legendary wildlife destination. Drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands and stop at the crater rim for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ngorongoro Crater—a memorable highlight of the journey.

Continue toward the Serengeti, where the vast savannah unfolds across the horizon, revealing why its name means “endless plains.” Covering approximately 18,000 square kilometers, the Serengeti is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife and is the setting for the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration.

As you enter the park, enjoy an exciting game drive through the endless plains, searching for large herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as impalas, Thomson’s gazelles, giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants. The Serengeti is also one of Africa’s finest destinations for spotting predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

For an optional historical experience, visit Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites. Learn about the remarkable discoveries associated with Louis and Mary Leakey, explore the museum, and discover the geological history of this fascinating landscape.

Continue deeper into the Serengeti, enjoying more wildlife viewing before arriving at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Enjoy a full day exploring the spectacular Serengeti National Park, with the freedom to tailor the day to your interests and preferred pace. Your experienced safari guide will work with you to determine the best times for game drives, meals, and relaxation based on wildlife activity and your preferences.

Choose a morning game drive, followed by a return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti with a picnic lunch in the wilderness, allowing you to venture farther and maximize your time among the wildlife.
