Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a representative from Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Relax, enjoy your evening, and prepare for the exciting Tanzania safari adventures ahead.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Natron

After breakfast, drive to the remote and spectacular Lake Natron, a unique destination in northern Tanzania located between the Ngorongoro Highlands and the Serengeti plains. The area is known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, Maasai culture, and breathtaking natural scenery.

After arriving and enjoying lunch at your accommodation, explore the surroundings of Lake Natron. Visit the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, Africa’s only active volcano, and hike to the beautiful Ngare Sero Waterfalls.

Later, enjoy a scenic sunset walk along the shores of Lake Natron. Famous for its highly alkaline waters and thousands of lesser flamingos, the lake offers a truly unique and unforgettable Tanzania safari experience.

Day 3: Safari to Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, depart Lake Natron and travel toward the remote Northern Serengeti, one of Tanzania’s best areas for experiencing the Great Wildebeest Migration. Continue through the Lobo area toward the Wagakuria region, enjoying a game drive along the way.

Arrive in Northern Serengeti around 3:00–4:00 PM and continue your game drive toward your camp. Keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and other wildlife across the vast Serengeti plains.

From around July to September, large herds of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, often gather in the Northern Serengeti during their annual migration. If conditions are right, you may witness the spectacular Mara River crossings, where wildlife faces strong currents and Nile crocodiles.

Enjoy an exciting evening game drive before arriving at your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4 – North Serengeti (FOLLOWING THE MIGRATION)

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in the Northern Serengeti, one of the best places to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Depending on the season and movement of the herds, you may witness the spectacular Mara River crossing. Thousands of wildebeest, together with zebras and other antelopes, gather along the river before making their dramatic crossing in search of fresh grazing.

This incredible wildlife spectacle offers unforgettable opportunities to watch the herds navigate the river while Nile crocodiles wait in the waters below. Spend the day exploring the Northern Serengeti and following the migration before returning to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: North–Central Serengeti

After a relaxed morning, drive toward Central Serengeti and spend the day exploring the wildlife-rich Seronera Valley. This area offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year and is famous for its high concentration of predators.

During your game drive, look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, often seen around the rocky kopjes that provide excellent vantage points across the plains. You may also spot elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topis, warthogs, zebras, and many other wildlife species.

After an exciting day in the Serengeti, continue to your carefully selected tented camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

Enjoy a final game drive in Serengeti National Park before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, established in 1959. Home to Maasai communities living alongside wildlife, the area spans 8,292 sq km and features diverse landscapes, including nine craters.

Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim for stunning views of the caldera and a night under the stars, or continue to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater for an unforgettable game drive. Known for its remarkable concentration of wildlife and breathtaking scenery, Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania’s most iconic safari destinations.

Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. After a memorable wildlife experience and picnic lunch, ascend the crater and continue your journey to Lake Eyasi.

Arrive at Lake Eyasi in the evening, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi – Arusha

This is a day we visit the Datoga and Hadzabe tribes in Lake Eyasi to explore cultural life. These are among the few people that still practice ancient traditions. You will get a chance to see the Datoga pastoralists and their traditional ways of life. Get a chance to visit their homes and practice their traditional dances. The Hadzabe, on the other hand, are a hunting community still practicing the ancient ways of getting food by hunting and gathering using their traditional tools such as bows and arrows. On your visit with the Hadzabe, you will get a chance to see them making these tools, and you can even participate in their small game hunt. Early in the evening, drive to Arusha for your overnight stay.

Day 9: Kilimanjaro and Chemaka Excursion

You will begin your adventure after breakfast in your hotel and drive to Materuni Waterfall close to the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Once you get to the village, you will begin with a walking tour to the Materuni waterfall. On the way you will see a lot of chameleons and many types of trees, birds, insects, and fruits, and later you will reach the waterfall, and the waterfall flows water from the Kilimanjaro forest and is fresh water, and if you need to swim, you can swim (don’t forget your swim clothes). Later, walking back to the village for a coffee tour and hot lunch from the local food of the Chagga people, once you finish, you will leave the village and proceed to Chemka hot spring. Once you get there, you will swim inside the natural spring, which is warm on one side and cold on another side with small fish inside, and the place is surrounded by fig trees. Enjoy swimming. Later we will drive to Arusha to your accommodation area.

Day 10: Departure Day

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning before your Tanzania safari comes to an end. At your preferred time, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
