Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a representative from Ernest Magic Tours & Safaris and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Relax and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay as you prepare for your unforgettable Great Wildebeest Migration safari.

Day 2: Arusha – Ndutu Area

After an early breakfast, begin your journey toward the Ndutu region, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, stop to admire the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to the southern Serengeti.

After approximately five to six hours, arrive in Ndutu, famous for its lush plains, acacia trees, seasonal lakes, flamingos, and abundant wildlife. During the calving season, thousands of wildebeest gather here to give birth to their young.

Enjoy your first game drive in Ndutu, with opportunities to see newborn wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife. Continue to your camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: Ndutu Area

Get ready for a full day of wildlife adventure in the Ndutu region, one of the best places to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration during calving season. Spend the day exploring the open savannah in search of wildebeest, newborn calves, zebras, and other wildlife.

Keep a close eye on the herds, as predators such as cheetahs, lions, and hyenas are often found nearby. Ndutu is particularly known for excellent cheetah sightings and exciting predator encounters.

Enjoy lunch at camp or choose a scenic picnic spot in the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush. After a full day of game viewing, return to camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4: Ndutu – Ngorongoro Crater

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, the morning will kick off with a thrilling game drive in the Ndutu area. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the rich wildlife and stunning landscapes. A half-day game drive will be followed by a picnic lunch amidst the wilderness. Later, we will divert our route towards the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The drive to the rim spans 75 km and is estimated to take approximately 2.5 hours, offering mild game sightings along the way. The Ngorongoro Crater is a remarkable geological wonder and a true haven of untamed wilderness. As the day draws to a close, you’ll savor a satisfying dinner and retire to your comfortable accommodation for a well-deserved rest.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Explore the crater floor and look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and other wildlife.

As the temperature rises, visit the famous hippo pool and watch these impressive animals cooling off in the water. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch beside the lake before continuing your final game drive through the crater.

After a last opportunity to enjoy the incredible wildlife and scenery, ascend to the crater rim and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
